The world we've created is a process of our thinking.
Realising the importance of process in design transforms ideas into reality. Using creativity, attention to detail and relevance, outcomes connect with their audiences.
About me
Hello! My name is Jay Pearson. I’m a Graphic Designer who has been working in the creative industry in various roles for the past 5 years.
Previously I worked at Apsens Services creating photography, motion, print and digital content for multiple brands as well as developing new concepts. I have also worked for Cedar Communications creating content for their main client Tesco. My duties included video editing, art directing, managing shoot crews, presenting asset proposals to clients, seeing projects through from conception to execution as well as managing, briefing and handling payroll for freelancers.
I discovered my passion for graphic design while studying for an art and design foundation at Stourbridge in 2015. I graduated with a 2:1 from a Graphic Design BA(Hons) course at the University of the West of England in 2019.
What drew me to graphic design was how broad and limitless it is. From using hand rendered techniques such as screen printing and mono printing to digital rendered techniques using programs such as Photoshop, After Effects, Premier Pro, Indesign and Illustrator. I have extensive experience using the full Adobe Suite.
I found that I could create a large variety of visually expressive pieces of work. At university I learned how to develop concepts and messages and integrate them into the work I create, and therefore give it purpose instead of just creating purely aesthetic pieces with little meaning.
During my time working in the industry I have not only produced an extensive catalogue of quality content in a multitude of mediums, I also have a great deal of hands on studio experience and collaboration with colleagues in the places I have worked.
Please feel free to get in touch regarding any enquiries or opportunities and I look forward to working with you soon!
What Matters To Me
One of the most important things I have learned with graphic design is how important the process is when completing a project. The time, the effort, the research and the passion as well as the skills and knowledge involved in arriving at a well informed and justified outcome that will please a client.
The work in my portfolio reflects my core skills of:
Design and Conceptual Development.
Type and Illustration.

Digital and Hand Rendered Processes
